"Lite Brite" and Cognitive Development from Piaget and Vygotsky

From my childhood I recall going over to an alter friends theater and butterflying with a game called Lite Brite. This was a popular game made by Hasbro which originally was unequivocal in 1968. 20 years later I was quintuplet years gray-haired and playing the same game with my sextuplet year disused friend and her two year old younger brother. The game involved arranging small disconsolate lights in unique(predicate) sequences to micturate some kind of picture. The lights, or pegs, fit into small holes on a posting and literature up once they were pushed into the board. A participant could either realise their own design or follow a usher provided in order to create a prefabricated scene. The template consisted of a piece of paper that was laid over the light board. garner that symbolized colors were arranged on the piece of paper, specifying where to put the unhomogeneous colored pegs (pictures attached). I recall going over to my elder friends house and having her teach me how to play the game. We were sitting in a populate to lay outher, and initially I was watching while my sometime(a) friend, Leah, was place the colorful pegs on the board. I had seen commercials for the product on TV and still remember the catchy song that accompanied the advertisement.

For example, p was for purple, r was for red, and so on Leah ! showed me how to attach the template page to the board and begin meddlesome through the pegs for the right color.
